Vision
The Emergency Management and Business Continuity office builds upon Western’s strong disaster planning foundation to enhance our preparedness and resilience by fostering a culture of (student, staff, and faculty) collaboration through education, training, and exercise. Our cohesive approach aims to minimize the impact of emergencies, protect lives and property, and support continuity of education. Western’s whole community approach better prepares our students for their future.
Western Washington University’s emergency management program works to strengthen university-wide emergency and disaster resiliency by encouraging prevention / mitigation actions, collaboratively planning, educating about preparedness, and supporting response and recovery efforts.
